Here is the latest news and important dates for this month.
In September 2017 eligible 3 year old's will be entitled to 30 hours FREE childcare. (Those not eligible for 30 hours will still get 15 hours FREE)
To QUALIFY each parent needs to be working a MINIMUM of 16 hours on the national minimum wage per week - so £111.00 - but no more than £100,000.00 PA. If you are a SINGLE parent you need to work a minimum of 16 hours as above. To check eligibility for the scheme you will use a checker set up by HMRC. They should write to you in due course. (Please also complete the survey so that the 30 hours goes ahead at http://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/free childcare survey
Please could you indicate to us though who would be interested in 30 hours if you are eligible, speak to Kim, so we can organise staffing. We will have sufficient space as we have the facility to expand into Fun Club should that be needed.
TAX-FREE Childcare - is a government scheme to help working parents with the cost of childcare. Parents can open up an online account, which they can use to pay for childcare from a registered provider. For every £8.00 a parent pays in, the government will pay in an extra £2.00. Parent's can receive up to £2,000.00 a year per child towards childcare costs, or £4,000.00 for disabled children. To qualify, parents will have to be in work, and each expecting to earn at least £115.00 per week but not more than £100,000.00 per year. We as a nursery have signed up and if you sign up through HMRC money will transfer directly to us from your accounts each month with your own Tax-Free reference number beside it to help us identify payments. This scheme is being launched in early 2017 so check the HMRC website.
TWO YEAR FUNDING - is a separate funding program measured on income that you can apply for once your child turns two. This is usually means tested or to do with additional needs.
PUPIL PREMIUM - Three and Four year old's are eligible for EYPP (Early Years Pupuil Premium) if they meet the criteria. This is an additional payment of up to £300.00 a year per eligible child that is made to the setting to provide activities, training for staff and interventions for children i.e. behavior, SEN, Speech & Language. This like two year funding is generally means tested. Please when Joss or the staff in Nursery ask you to fill the form in and return it along with your 15 hours grant funding forms do so as a matter of urgency. Every penny we can get from the LA helps us provide the BEST care for your child.
